Q-P vs X30: The sensors

Q-P features a Full frame sized sensor, while the X30 uses a Compact sensor.

Boasting an area of 864mm² (1.38 sq.in.) the sensor of the Q-P is a lot larger than the X30's chip at 58mm² (0.09 sq.in.). In most cases a larger sensor will yield better results in low light, a considerable advantage in many situations (think: interior images, dusk or dawn etc.), a clear disadvantage of the Compact format.

Better choice: Leica Q-P
